I've heard of the wrongs
which have been done to you, I have read about them, I have seen some...but I
have never felt any of these. Nevertheless, I relate with the situation. I
understand the heart of a child, the innocence, the bright-eyed wonder, the
hunger for love, the need for connection with someone or something... I once
was a child and I craved these. However, you have been denied these through
varying circumstances and you ache for something, anything to hold on to even
as you spiral down the staircase of darkness.
Dear Ainih, precious flower,
I read your story in the papers couple of days ago. I read of how you were molested
by an uncle in whom you placed so much faith. NOW, YOU FEEL EMPTY and hate the
world, your precious flower has been cut off from blooming and you just want to
leave it all behind and go to the beyond. Stay with us Ainih, we acknowledge
your pain and all that’s happened to you...stay, do stay with us.
Oluduro, your own father attempted
to use you for ritual; he needed the blood of his only male child to extend his
life-span. He had just gotten mega-rich after sacrificing your sister on the
altar of greed. However, riches could not help make a deal with the Creator to
extend his life span. He decided to sacrifice you but God, fate, whatever you
choose to call it intervened when policemen got tipped off about the location
of the ritual and got there in time to save you. Oluduro...stay with us. We acknowledge
the pain and betrayal...do stay with us.

A'dab, your country was torn
apart by war and your friends and family were killed. You were rescued and
taken to an orphanage only it wasn't a place of refuge but a cold dark lonely
prison. Madame saw just how pretty you were and found a use for you; you had to
do what Madame wanted or go hungry and starve to death. You thought within
yourself 'I will do whatever Madame wants till I find a way out of this place
and take my revenge on the world.' You became sold out to prostitution. Take not
revenge on the world A'dab. It has not done you well but seek no revenge... we
acknowledge your pain and situation, seek no revenge. As your name suggests
hope and need, there's a place in your heart that still hopes for better
things, keep the hope alive. We NEED you to stay alive.
To all the children who have
been victims of abuse, aggression on any plane of existence, your suffering is
acknowledged and we want you to know that we will do everything humanly possible
to protect your rights and make the world a better place. Do not give up the
little hope inside of you. Hold on…there are better things in store.
June 4 is a day set aside by
the United Nations to call attention to the pain suffered by children throughout
the world who are the victims of physical, mental and emotional abuse. It is
also to show the UN’s support and dedication to protect the rights of children.
More also, it is a day 6paragraphs chooses to spread the word about protecting
the rights of children, relate with the pain suffered by these ones and offer
hope to despairing souls, encouraging them to hope for better things.
